Yes, it's totally a POS terminal thing! But these terminals are a bit rare in Europe though (I live in Germany, and have never seen one here yet), but I did come across one at a club in Prague a few days ago (where the NO option was so cleverly hidden, that I tipped each time I got a drink!) - and my friend said that they are pretty ubiquitous in the US! The discussion that resulted and the overall experience is the origin story of this comic :D
