I think it is a very subjective experience. A white european woman will have a mostly positive experience as compared to a coloured person. A friend of mine is as European as one one can be from looks - white blue-eyed blond, and she was so overwhelmingly impressed when she visited the US that she couldn’t stop talking about it. She even had a car accident there and said that the police were oh so super friendly. This is something that none of my other coloured friends have ever said! Perhaps a lot is region dependent too - were they in California or Texas? But I would love to visit and create my own view. Thanks for the interesting perspective in the article!
