Recognize that standard limits are arbitrary

When you think you are done with your workout, you are only about 40% done.

As a kid, I once managed to do 20 push-ups and proudly went to my dad and said — I did 20 push-ups today!

He simply looked at me and said — “Great! But for this whole week, start the actual count after you have done 20 — and tell me that.”

That hit me like a brick and changed my perspective (not at the time, but years later).

The typical limits such as 3 sets of 12 reps are just general guidelines. Your true limits are unique to you and can be pushed further.

Count progress only from when it starts becoming uncomfortable!

That’s how you will see real improvement, and go further than you ever imagined!

Take a break and get a fresh perspective

I will take the example of writing here. When you think you’ve finished writing, take a break to refresh your mind.

When you return to your work, you’ll have a new perspective and new ideas will flow.
