As we noted in the trip and as our tour guide explained to us, there are lot of complications in the classification of regions - whether it should be Nordic or Scandinavian or simply Baltic, I have no idea.
One thing is certain though - the languages Finnish and Estonian are both classified as Finnic languages. While Romanian is classified as a Romance language, belonging to Indo-European language family. It has much in common with languages such as Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese. So with a language perspective, Finns and Estonians can be clustered together, while Romanians clustered along with other Balkan language states.
Thanks for the read! Cheers!
